In 1967, The Monkees outsold The Beatles and The Rolling Stones combined. Their TV show won two Emmy Awards and the band produced five multi-platinum albums and six Billboard Top 10 singles including three #1’s. Today, their music continues to enchant audiences worldwide. With the passing of three of the original Monkees, the only way to experience that great music live on stage has been through Micky Dolenz’ ongoing solo tours – until now.

Our touring cast consists of the following performers:

FRANKEE MENDONCA AS DAVY JONES

Frank has been performing as Paul McCartney for several years. Bearing a resemblance to both the cute Beatle and Davy Jones, Frank was a natural to portray the late great teen idol. In addition to sounding eerily like Davy, he also plays the bass, guitar, drums and keyboards all to perfection. Frank was featured in the motion picture “National Lampoon’s Vegas Vacation,” and he even met Davy Jones in the 90’s.

DOUG COUTURE AS MIKE NESMITH

Just like his alter-ego, Doug Couture was born in Texas.  Doug started playing guitar at 10 years old, and began playing professionally when he was 23. Although Doug has had success with his original work as a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, he has always been enamored with the music of the 60’s, and has traveled the world playing the part of the quiet Beatle, George Harrison.  In his new role as “Wool Hat,” Doug has not only perfected Nesmith’s southern vocal twang, but he has also copied the stylings of some of the greatest guitarists from The Wrecking Crew that were featured on the original Monkees recordings.

JONATHON FICKES AS PETER TORK

Jon was born and raised in the small town of Moses Lake, WA. After receiving a degree in music, he spent many years playing in the vibrant music scenes of New York City and Seattle. As a songwriter, his music has been featured in The Huffington Post, Paste Magazine, No Depression, and Big Takeover. After watching The Beatles Anthology on TV at age ten, he instantly became obsessed. “They were just so funny. I wanted to hang out with them and be their friend.” He quickly picked up a guitar and never looked back. Jon is proficient on many instruments including guitar, bass, keyboards and banjo. His natural blonde hair and all-American good looks make him the perfect Peter Tork.

JOSHUA JONES AS MICKY DOLENZ

Joshua was raised in a musical family and began playing drums in jazz bands at the age of 9. He won many competitions in both jazz and concert band in the US and abroad. In his early 20’s, Josh jumped into the tribute scene and he made an immediate impact. Josh can play any instrument you put in front of him. Or, behind him. He has toured all 50 states and 37 countries and enjoys long hikes through the mountains and pumpkin spice lattes (not necessarily at the same time). When he’s home (which is rare) he enjoys spending time with his pug, Indiana Jones.
